A Return to Self
Some of my earliest memories are wrapped up in clothing.
As a little girl my dad, a photographer, would create shoots of me dressed up in all sorts of styles. My mum and nanny lovingly made clothes for me, and I would proudly parade through the lounge room as if it were my own runway. My grandmothers always dressed with care and intention, teaching me that what we wear isn't about perfection - it's about taking pride in ourselves and expressing who we are.
Looking back, I realise they weren't just teaching me how to dress. They were teaching me that getting dressed could be an act of creativity, confidence and self-expression.
As I grew older, like many women, my style evolved through different seasons of life.
There were times I dressed for my peer groups, relationships, careers and the roles I found myself in.
Each chapter shaped me, but I realised that over time I had built a wardrobe that reflected many different versions of myself and very little of who I truly was now.
My wardrobe contained clothing from different chapters of my life most of which I had outgrown.
That realisation led me back to a simple question:
What do I actually like?
The answer wasn't found in looking outside myself but rather within. It was found in slowing down, choosing intentionally, and building a wardrobe around timeless pieces that felt authentic and that made me genuinely happy.
That journey became the foundation of By Sage.
Today, By Sage is guided by the belief that style isn't about becoming someone else. It's about reconnecting with who you've always been.
Every piece is thoughtfully chosen with quality, simplicity and longevity in mind - creating a wardrobe that feels effortless, considered and uniquely yours. Timeless pieces you will reach for now and in many years to come.
Because the right clothes don't change who you are.
They help you feel authentically you.
